A long, hot bath made Lara feel much better. She had a bruise down most of one side, a bad scrape on her elbow, and an impressive bump on her head. Other than perhaps a bruised rib, she had no serious injuries, just a lot of pain.

Kayden was busy working on the hard drive from the shattered laptop while Thomas rested on the sofa. He hadn’t suffered any broken bones either, but nursed just as many bumps and bruises and she did.

It had taken some convincing to keep Steve and Whitfield from coming back to the safehouse with them. They had sent them off with the excuse that there were things there “they needed to keep private.”

The two agents looked curious but didn’t ask questions. They were both accustomed to dealing with things they didn’t get to know.

After drying herself off and getting dressed, Lara walked stiffly to Kayden’s room.

He had transformed it into a scaled-down version of his living room at home. The desk was covered with two large screens, and a monitor plus an external storage device stood next to it. Cables ran to a laptop as well as another two hard drives, as well as the external hard drive and the hard drive from the laptop she had stolen.

“It looks like ground control for NASA in here.”

Kayden grinned. "Not as good as what I have in Berlin. I sent them another text to tell them to go away. Hopefully, they'll leave me alone until tomorrow."

Right. I was supposed to call Pavel this afternoon.

Lara had been putting it off. That had turned out to be an easy thing to do.

She’d have to do it soon, though.

“So what do you have for us?”

Kayden turned toward the open door. “Hey, Loserboy! Stop lazing on the couch and come over here.”

Thomas walked into the room, looking like he wanted nothing more than to keep taking a nap.

“What have you found for us?” he asked.

"Nothing. The external hard drive was just a backup of their chatroom, plus a bunch of memes and videos made by the British Nationalist Party. I was able to recover the data from the laptop Lara smashed and there was nothing related to the prime minister. I did find some stuff about drug dealing, though. Looks like that's how they make their money. I didn't dig into it too deep, so I don't know if you can link it to the political wing. Juicy stuff, though. All the government needs to shut these guys down."

“Nothing about the prime minister’s younger brother?”

“Yeah. Some emails between two of the people in charge complaining they couldn’t get him to join The True Knights of Saint George. He told them that while he hated his sister’s politics, family loyalty kept him from going that far.”

“Nothing about threats to the prime minister? Anything about changing the UK’s Russia policy?”

Kayden shook his head. “Nada. This is a dead end.”

“Did you hack into Strategic Consultants, Ltd. like I asked?”

“I was just getting to that, and it’s more bad news.
